7 Things You Should Pray For Often

The following seven things are the most important things you should pray about when speaking with God.  As you will see in the Bible, prophets prayed for these things and supernatural miracles happened for many of them.  When you feel up or down in your life, pray.  A healthy spiritual life is key to combating the perils of this life.  May the following seven prayer requests renew you in mind, body, and spirit.

One.  Healing and health is what sustains us each day.  Without being healed from a sickness you can’t be of much help to someone else.  When you are not ill, it is best to thank God for the health you already have and remember someone who may not be doing so well with his or her health.

Two.  Wisdom is what you will need in whatever you do.  How can you know what to do in a situation when you have no knowledge?  Sometimes a book to read, conversing with someone, or Internet research is simply not enough.  You may have to look to something greater than man or thing to get the answers you need to solve your problems.

Three.  Protection from harm and danger is essential when you fear what you don’t know.  How do you know when you leave your home today, you will be coming back without injury, better yet, alive?  How do you know that your adventure seeking family member will come back safe after challenging his fate yet again?  These are experiences that happen to people often and wouldn’t it be nice to know that someone cares enough to pray?

Four.  Family and friends and anyone you come in contact with on a daily basis.  Most people don’t realize that when they share a problem with a friend, subconsciously they are looking for something more than sympathy.  They want answers and encouragement.  The next time someone tells you about their aching back or troubled relationship, secretly pray for them.

Five.  Prosperity financially, spiritually, and mentally.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with praying for a financial increase, spiritual renewal, or mental strength to handle the next challenge set before you.  If you can ask someone for money, seek a psychologist for mental health, or sit down and listen to a minister counsel you, then why not ask God first?

Six.  The ability to see signs and wonders.  God is still blessing millions of people with miracles.  If you need him to give you a sign your situation is already being handled by Him, then why not ask for a sign?  However, you will need to pray the following to be sure that the sign you are awaiting for is not a trick from the evil one.

Seven.  Discernment.  Too many people go into situations not knowing who is friend or foe.  Wouldn’t you like to know who indeed is on your side at work?  What family member really doesn’t love you?  And why certain people seem to always be around you when you need them?  The only way you will be able to see the goodness as well as the evil in some people is by praying for the gift of discernment.  However, a gift like this isn’t dispensed to everyone, only God’s chosen and the only way you can become one of God’s people is if you accept Him.  Easier said than done.

Are You Saying the Kind of Prayers to Get Results?

He is the Creator of the Universe, he is almighty, powerful, and he is our heavenly Father.  God loves us more than we know!  So are we having the kind of conversation with him that is getting results?  Do we see the fruits of the Spirit being made manifested in our lives?  If not, do we have some un-confessed sins that we must take care of before approaching him?

With so much madness going on in the world, some believers have got to step it up in their prayer time!  It isn't any wonder that for some Christians there seems to be static in the prayer line when it comes to God answering prayers and petitions, because they don't take him or his words seriously.  For some, wayward in the faith, God is far away, doesn't care, and has better things to do than to listen to them.  But I beg to differ!  He does hear, see, care, love, and acts upon our requests.  Yet, are we doing any of those things when he wants to get our attention?  When God tells us to listen, follow instructions, lean on him, read his word, go through Jesus when we pray, attend bible study and/or worship services, are we doing just that?

Trust in God today and tell him about the things that are good, bad and otherwise.  Simply believe that he has heard your requests about yourself, spouse, children, family, co-workers, brothers and sisters in Christ as well as strangers on the street.  Afterward, sit awhile and listen out for his voice and seek evidence that he has heard your prayers.

Blessings to you this holiday season!

Cut Away, Cut Off What is Constantly Tempting You to Compromise Your Faith

You say you are a Christian.  You believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  You tell others about God and share printed resources and other information about your faith.  Yet, there is just one problem, the more you talk and walk in the godly, the more the enemy comes with just one more thing that places you in a position to question whether you should or shouldn't do something that compromises your faith.

"But that's your friend...you knew these people for years...Why wouldn't you help them?  You know that if you do for them, they will look out for you."  Sound familiar?

For some of you, you may have already done some things that you wish you hadn't and felt like there is no way out of your circumstance.  You may even feel like God is not with you anymore this is why you still work to share the things of God.  But there is a way out of darkness!  Either you cut yourself off from the negative things that bind you or you wait for someone or something to expose you.  God warns us to cut certain people, places, things, habits, and more away.  He tells us to remove ourselves, to do some things differently, but do we always listen?  Sometimes we don't and we learn the hard way.

Nowadays with so many people losing spouses and children, jobs, health, material assets, and more, it can be quite tempting to want to do everything in your power to maintain position, personal fortune, connections, and more.  But does one have to sell or continue to sell his or her soul to the devil?  Absolutely not!  True believers are called to live righteously.  Those who sit in pews on Sunday know better.  We are to not only listen to the word of God, but do.

So when you know there is something on the inside eating away at your mind, body and spirit and you do nothing about it, know that sooner or later, the work of evil will catch up to you and expose you as a fraud.  Allow the Holy Ghost, left behind by Jesus, to cleanse your mind, body and spirit this day and direct your path according to our Father's wishes.

Say this prayer:

Dear Lord,

I praise you this day and recognize your power.  I am grateful for all that you have done for me.  I know that lately I have not been living right and I ask that you have mercy on me.  Move on my spirit to do what's right.  Give me the courage to cut away or cut off what is keeping me bound in sin.  I ask that you remove the temptations of the devil far away from me.  I ask in Jesus name.  Amen.

Now that you have said the prayer aloud.  I ask that my God cover you in the blood of Jesus and that you begin to start walking righteously again.  As long as you confess and repent from sin, you have nothing to be concerned about.  Put your troubles in God's hands and leave them there!

Have a day of peace and may God bless you for taking some time to acknowledge Him!
